Lisa Goodrich has been dancing for over 30 years.  She’s taught popular belly dance classes for 15 years.  She’s spent over 20 years swinging from the rafters as an aerialist.  For the last six years, she’s been studying Cyr wheel and has completed Sam Tribble’s Progressive Axis Training (PAT) Level 1 teacher training course.  She loves the elegance and smoothness of Cyr wheel and is thrilled to be sharing this beautiful form with others.

Bio

Lisa Goodrich fell in love with belly dance while in college.  She was so inspired she made a documentary about it for her BFA senior thesis project in film studies at the University of Colorado.  She spent over 15 studying belly dance with Suzanna Del Vechhio in Denver.  In 1995 she discovered Nancy Smith and Frequent Flyers Productions in Boulder and was introduced to the thrill of flying through the air combined with dancing on the ground.  In 2000 Lisa moved to the San Francisco bay area for 2 years to study American Tribal Style belly dance with the originators, Fat Chance Belly Dance (FCBD) and continued her aerial training with master teacher, Terry Sendgraff.  Lisa moved back to Colorado to teach and train in both aerial and belly dance.  In 2006 she was one of the first to be certified in “General Skills” by Carolena Nericcio, director of FCBD.  Lisa has taught belly dance for the last 15 years through many different groups; University of Colorado Recreation Center, Lifelong Learning, Breakthrough Arts, Bantaba and classes of her own.  In 2002 she started performing as a principal dancer with Desert Rain Tribal Belly Dance group. She became the director from 2006-2012.

Come spin, fly and whirl with delight!
This class will cover the basics of Cyr Wheel.  How to work with different sized wheels, learning to spin (waltzing), manipulations on and off the wheel are some of the skills that will be covered in this class.  Come discover the thrill of spinning on a Cyr wheel. Age 14 - adult, height 5'3" and taller (not that we want to discriminate, but we don't have any wheels that will fit someone shorter than 5'3". You're welcome to bring your own wheel if you have one.)
